about
Hello my name is Alex and I am an aspiring architect hoping to make the built environment more empathic, sustainable, equitable, logical and fun. I’m originally from Lakewood, WA in the Pacific Northwest. I am a twenty-something year old designer who loves to create! I am married to a beautiful Brazilian woman named Marina. Marina is a twenty-something year old artist with a passion for photography, originally from Blumenau, SC. You could say we are a couple who have a strong passion for design and creating beauty for those we love! We currently live in Seattle, WA. Some of our hobbies are yoga, hiking, dog watching, sketching and painting, making photoshop creations, photography, reading & writing, cooking, exploring the mysticism of nature, drinking tea, philosophical conversations, and much more!
My design ideology follows the basic pillars of sustainability: environment, equity, and economy. A sense of adventure and passion for design led me to study at the University of Virginia. Throughout my educational career at the University of Virginia, I found my passion for civic and cultural architecture. My interdisciplinary, design thinking, research-based workflow approach projects through the lenses of history, culture, urban analysis, sustainability, empathy, and spatial awareness. It is my dream to be involved in finding solutions to the issues of the 21st century: climate change, political and cultural tensions, data and surveillance, public space, and technology. Without further ado, welcome to my world of design...
